My name is Christopher, and this is a little story about me.

From a very young age, I could stay busy for hours building Lincoln Logs, Legos, or drawing cartoons, and I love a good puzzle. Anything creative that I could do with my hands kept me happy. I had to know how things worked. If it had gears, levers, or springs, I wanted to take it apart to see what's inside.

When I was in high school, I made my own lock picks out of paper clips and old eyeglass arms. I'd pick any locks I could find just to see if I could, then lock them again. School work never really fit me. But anything mechanical, I was all in.

At 16, working my first job in a grocery store, I took it upon myself to fix the fresh squeezed orange juice machine when it broke. Previously, my boss was the only one that could repair it. After that, he trusted me with all kinds of projects, including running cable and setting up the security cameras for the store. We worked together on many other projects around the store.

I stayed there 4 years and after high school, I still wasn't sure what I wanted to do for a living until a friend mentioned an opening at a local locksmith shop. My boss at the time was sad to see me go, but he said "You are destined for bigger things, and you can't work here all your life". So I took a pay cut to become an apprentice at a small lock shop, because something about the trade just felt right.

Within a year, I was out on service calls. I spent about 8 years learning every part of the trade, then moved to a much busier locksmith company, where I continued building my skills for another 12 years.

Eventually, I knew the only way to keep growing was to build something of my own. That's how Precision Lock Company came to be.

People ask me all the time if I enjoy what I do. I tell them I absolutely love it. It never feels like just a job. I love problem solving. I love working with my hands. I love helping people secure their homes and businesses. It's more than a career. It's who I am and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
